ToiToi Reading - Footprints in the Sand

 


Task explanation:
Today I finished another ToiToi reading task and the story was Footprints in the Sand. I enjoyed completing this task since it was short. We just needed to fill in the blank areas and fill it in with our information from the story. I've seen this story and Nadal read it so, I decided to read it too.

Today I did another Jigsaw puzzle but it was a Tui. It only took me 18 minutes and I am happy that it was shorter than my other jigsaw puzzle.

On our class site there is this website with many stories to read. After you have submitted you get a certificate for completing this task. There are 9 stories to read and if I read 2 each day I would be finished by the end of this week. Click on the image to see the text I read.

Cybersmart Challenge: Replying to comments


Task explanation:
Today this task was to complete it and reply to comments on our blog. The three things we needed to include in our comments is a thank you, an answer and a question. Today Mokoia commented on my blog on the concept circle which was a perfect timing because I needed to reply to a comment to complete this task.

Critical Questions


Task explanation:
We needed to read another article about Waikato University to offer Bachelor of Climate Change. Then after we read it we needed to create question. In our reading we are learning to ask and answer critical quesitons when reading texts and discussing ideas.

Concept circle


Task explanation:
I did the concept circle on our reading slides and we needed add 3 more words and then make 3 sentences with all of the 4 words in those sentences. We had to make each sentence different from each other.

Word Study T3


Task explanation:
Today our literacy tasks was to do this word study and a concept circle. I worked on the word study first because it would short to work on. 

Brainstorm Lockdown


Task explanation:
For writing we need to write a recount about our lockdown since school is almost over and this is our last week of term 3. This is my brainstorm of my lockdown, it's simple and boring in my lockdown since we don't go to school.

Critical Questions


Task explanation:
Today in our reading we had to read an article about people thinking to change New Zealand's name. There were a few comments saying that it was great to change the name because it has been New Zealand for too long and other people say that we should keep it like New Zealand. In my opinion I think that we shouldn't change it's name, well it depends on what name it is. But I think that we shouldn't change NZ's name.

Cybersmart Challenge - Empowerment


Task explanation:
Today for cybersmart we did a task called empowerment. It was about if you would find a comment that's not positive and you are feeling sad or uncomfortable look on these slides and see if they help you.

Jigsaw puzzles - Kiwi

 


Today I tried out one of the jigsaw puzzles and it was amazing and fun to do. Scams and Phishing


Task explanation:
Kia ora everyone today this is our new cybersmart challenge and it was about scamming and phishing. You need to be careful when you are on your device because there are some silly ads, pop-ups and some websites that are asking for your personal information. You could get an email about winning a prize or something and they will ask for your email or something from your personal information. Be careful since it's lockdown a lot of people are online so stay safe.

Another math task for today is completed and it was about subtraction and addition. It was easy because I knew all of the answers.

Task explanation:
Today our math task was to solve this math problem. We did it again because not a single person got it right except for Lara, Maia and Syntyche. They read it carefully and they got extra points. It was confusing at first but thanks for Mrs Dhaliwal for explaining during our google meet.

Task explanation:
Today our first task for Monday was to fill in the blank spots with out answers. We used these websites to find out the dictionary meanings and to find some synonyms with the word. Then in the last box we had to make up a sentence with the word in it.

Prototec Basic Facts


Task explanation:
In our math learning we did prototec basic facts and I filled in a sheet and marked it but I just got 2 wrong which made 38/40. I wasn't really happy about it but I just thought that I could try next time. So now the certificate is 95%. The reason why I am trying to get all answers correct so that I may move onto the next level.

Task explanation:
Kia Ora, it is the last day of Maori Language week which means this will be the last task for Maori Language week. I just needed to rearrange some words and add some it was easy to do but confusing at the same time, but I still gave it a go.

Champion LeaderBoard


Kia Ora, so far I am coming in the top first from online learning. I am really proud of myself with all my learning. I appreciate my family supporting of how I am doing at school and also to my teacher. Huge support from me to those other people who are trying really hard to earn some points. I am going to continue working harder with online learning so that I won't fall back when lockdown is over and we go to school. My parents would be really proud to see me doing very good in school so I am going to work proud and hard.

Math Task: Fractions with the same denominator


Task explanation:
Our math task was to do answer these questions. It was really easy because the denominators were the same numbers which means that we only add or subtract the top numbers that are called numerators. It took me long though because there were a lot of questions to answer.

Today our maths task was to watch a video about fractions. It explained to us about a common denominator. It was easy to understand because my dad taught me a long time ago. This task was just about putting the lines to the correct answer, here is the result.

Today this was our warm up just to keep our brains active. We needed to think of a word then write another word and put it in a sentence. Then put a different word into the next box and make a sentence with all those words in the sentence. It was really hard to think of words but I'm happy I have completed it.

Our task after our break was to work from these slides that our teacher has made for us to learn from. We watched a video of how to introduce yourself in Te Reo Maori. I created a doc and tried out introducing myself in Te Reo Maori. If you didn't know, it is Maori Language week !

It's Monday today, that means...another fact file ! Today we interviewed Mrs Vaevae. She enjoyed the interview because the questions we asked really made her think. In our maths this was our Thursday task, it was difficult to solve and I forgot to time myself. But I managed to finish it. I would love this tile to be my floor for my kitchen when I am old enough to buy my own house and recreate the tiles for my kitchen.

Maths Warm Up W7


Task explanation:
In maths we have our maths warm ups, our daily tasks and some maths activities to do afterwards. I finished off my maths warm up so that I can clear up all the learning that needs to be finished and so, that it is more easier and quicker to finish learning. These maths warm up were kind of difficult but I got the hang of it.

Task explanation:

We needed to figure how many hand shakes there were read the writing carefully. This math task was really confusing it took me about 2-3 minutes. I believe that I may not be correct but I guess this is my answer in my opinion. Comment down your opinion.

Tongan Language week - Facts Sheet


Task explanation:
In my last blog post I have explained about this task but I will explain again. We needed to find 10 facts about a famous tongan person from the slides (on my last post) so I chose King Tupou VI. He was the king since 2019. I learnt a lot from this some information I got is from Wikipedia. I have worked really hard on this and it took me a VERY long time to finish, I am so proud that I have finished it off.

Task explanation:
In our cybersmart learning we are setting tips for those who need to be cybersmart or to show how to be cybersmart. You should always be careful online because there are some dangerous people but some can be safe online. Just be aware being online because a lot of hackers can find it easier for them to hack us since a lot of people are online of the cause of lockdown. Stay safe and be cybersmart.

Task explanation:
In reading we read a text that was about the Taranaki Mounga. It had so much information of how it erupted and many other stuff. I asked these questions with Nadal. We worked on it for a little bit and we managed to finish it off.
