Brainstorm on my topic

 


Task explanation:
In writing we learned about persuasive writing and watched or listened to people say their persuasive writing. Persuade means to convince someone or to change their mind. This is my topic that I will be working on to plan my speech because room 5 is preparing speeches and each one of us has different topics. (This is only my brainstorm.)

Task explanation:
For reading we read a story about The Zoo Debate. After we read the text we needed to create questions about the text and share it to someone you would ask these questions to. Today I shared it with Syntyche because she is a well being role model in learning.

My Savings Plan

1 Why did the boy want to buy an action camera? So that him and his friends could film each other doing tricks at the track and skatepark.

2 Why did the boy and his mother go online to find the perfect camera? So they don't have to drive to the store while in the rain.

3 Why did the boys have to wait until the golfers had gone home before they were allowed to look for golf balls? So that people who were at the golf course didn't know about them taking the golf balls.

4 Why do you think the boys only found seven golf balls? The boy got scratched by twigs.

5 Why did Mrs Chen think the boy and his family were going somewhere special? The boy was cleaning their family's car as if they are cleaning their car to make it look clean.

6 Why does Mrs Chen take her dog to the poodle groomer? For a bath and a brush

7 Why didn’t the boy hear Mrs Chen when she was offering him a job? Mrs Chen was talking too much

8 Why did Mrs Chen’s windows glisten after they had been cleaned? The sun reflects its light onto the window which made it glisten

9 Why do you think Mrs Chen gave the boy a $5 bonus? Mrs Chen was so pleased

10 Why was a savings plan a good idea? It is good because saving money can be good, you never know when you need something

Conversion/Converting game


Task explanation:
In maths today we played a maths game about converting metric units and other things. We needed to solve and write down what kg (kilograms) and grams are. Here are the results.

Aotearoa Te Reo Place Names


Task explanation:
In Te Reo learning our task was to complete one slide each day but I decided to work hard and complete all 14 slides. We needed to listen to the video on each slide and answer the questions on the side. Did you already know the answers for some of the questions?

For this task we needed to convert the kilograms with the grams. I really didn't understand but I solved all of them at the end

Task explanation:
For this task we needed to solve this and drag the line to the correct number. It was easy and it tries to trick you by putting the hundreds in a different place.

Commenting on docs

 







Task explanation:
For this task we had to make a comment on a random fact, comment a suggestion for a synonym of a word, write a positive, thoughtful, helpful comment and add in an action request for a friend. On top you can see my screenshots of my work. I found this task to be so fun and I learnt how easy it is to use commenting in google docs.

Task Description:
In this task for maths we worked on online worksheets and worked it out. We learned what expanded form is. The worksheets were easy to work out.

Cybersmart Challenge: My favourite wonder of the world


Task Description:
In cybersmart learning we did a challenge to use google earth to see our favourite place in the world. Mine is Rainbows End, I know theres more places in the world but I would love to visit Rainbows End again with my family. We needed to calculate how long it will take to get there from your home to your destination. It would take 19 minutes to get to Rainbows End from my house to there.

Google Meet Ready


For cybersmart learning we did a task called 'Google Meet Ready'. It was simple to do, Nadal and I worked on it together but blogged it separately. I hope you learn something from these slides and remember to do the right thing when you are on your google meets.

Writing Task: Connections


In our writing we answered questions about having generalisations and stereotypes about people or places. Nadal and I worked on this for a few minutes, it was difficult because we didn't understand the word 'stereotypes' but we used the dictionary website and searched it up. But now we have finished.

Changing the order of numbers

 


In this math task it was about changing the order of numbers to make mutilplication easier. Figuring out the math problems took a while to figure because some of them were kind of confusing.



Sharing into equal sets

 




In this task I needed to solve all the problems. It was about solving problems about sharing into equal sets.

Multiplication problems

 


For this task I was learning to solve multiplication problems using doubling, halving, thirding and trebling. Multiplication can be easy once you understand it but when you don't it's confusing. Answering the problems was easy because I knew most of the timetables.



Maths Task: How much to fill it?


In this maths task it was one of our challenges in maths. It was done on a website called ARBs we needed to figure out how much litres each bottle or container holds.

Concept Circle


In our literacy daily 5 for word work this task to help our brain be more active. We needed to think of a word and write it. We also had to think of another word to go with the main word and make it in a sentence. Then we needed to keep going and put all of the words in a sentence.

In this task we needed to read a book online which is called training for success. We needed to create questions and share our work with a buddy so that they can comment by answer our questions.

Today in writing the task was to write about a sport from the Olympics. Our inquiry focus for this week is Olympics. I chose tennis for the writing report, I researched and I read information and made sentences with my own words. It took a while to think about what I needed to write.
