We wrote about ourselves being sucked into a movie. I chose Insidious because I thought it would be interesting to write about, this is the finished product. My favourite that I wrote was when I got possessed and scared my parents away.

The Reason why we have Pink Shirt day

Schools/Kura - Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day | Mental Health Foundation

Pink Shirt day began in Canada in 2007, when a boy in Canada wore a pink shirt and was bullied. Suddenly 2 students had enough and stood up for him, and to stop homophobic bullying. Pink Shirt day is a day when people wear a pink shirt to symbolise a stand against bullying. The 2 students' names were, David Shepherd and Travis Price. Also the boy’s name who got bullied was Chuck McNeill. Tens of thousands of New Zealanders will wear their pink shirts with pride, spreading kindness around the world. Wearing a pink shirt can send a powerful message by thinking that there is no such thing as boy colors and girl colors.

Stop the bullying and speak up for others.

Questions to answer about a Tsunami

Who do you think the man is and why is he there? I think that the man is a wizard trying to hold his magic wand up high for the traffic to cross, because there was no bridge so people who drove in vehicles asked nicely for help.

How do you think the people who are in the vehicles are feeling at this point and why? They feel uncomfortable because they felt like the man would drop the sea over them and they would suffer.

If you were in one of those cars, what do you think you would do? I would thank him for holding up the water for us to go across. But if he didn't help I would not thank him.

Imagine you are on the telephone to the emergency services. Can you describe what is happening? I would say that a wizard or a strange man was holding a magic stick and he was holding up the ocean for the vehicles to go across.

Amazing Trip to the Auckland Museum

Class Trip to the Museum 12th May 2021

On 12th May 2021 Room 5 and 6 went on a trip to the Auckland Museum. We were driving there on a bus and when we arrived at the Museum we all said thank you when we got off the bus. When I was about to walk in, I saw a great update. Inside were couches, stores and a cafe, but there was more. We walked inside and I saw a lot of space and there were more people and new workers. The colors of the walls were light brown and there was a huge tv near the couches. Next a girl introduced herself when we entered her name was Whaea Haere. Whaea Haere led us to a room where we had our lunch and morning tea. After that she told us where the toilets were and where the fountains were.

After we went into our groups we were assigned to, I was with Mrs Dhaliwhal. Some people in my group were Vake, Joanna, Khin Lin, Amindeep and myself. We all went to stories of Auckland first and discovered 3 birds. One of the birds was blue, the other was red and the third one was green and blue. Vake said that the blue one meant water, red bird meant fire and the last one meant earth which was the green and blue bird. We took a long time inside that gallery because we were really interested in the equipment that was displayed in the gallery.

Next we went to another gallery that said ¨Stories of Auckland¨. It was very dark but I liked it because it wasn't too bright. I walked in and already saw a man sitting down looking at a big screen across him. It was showing information about New Zealand. We took notes in our red writing books because my teacher Mrs Dhaliwhal told us to bring our books to write notes, and what we discovered. There was a smaller screen near the bigger screen and when we looked at it, it showed ¨What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people¨. It had a big meaning in the message, and the meaning for me is, it is telling us that we need to keep our people safe and to own up on our own responsibility.

After that we walked around the museum and we went to the insect room, which was called ¨Weird and Wonderful¨. Our group walked into Weird and Wonderful, and as we were looking we saw animals that live in the wild, birds that we have never seen before and other kinds of animals. There were draws and you were allowed to open them and when you do, you might get a fright. Why? I opened a draw that said “Tarantulas” and as I opened the draw I saw spiders. I was scared so I closed it. After a few minutes in “Weird and Wonder” we started to leave. After that we walked to the room where we have our morning tea and lunch.

We walked in and already saw our lunch on the table. Inside the lunch was a sandwich, an apple and a yogurt. After lunch we went outside and had a run. My group walked around the Museum outside. After that we kept walking inside of the museum and we went to the volcanoes. We go into a small house how it feels to be in a volcano eruption or an earthquake. We went inside and saw two couches, a tv and a big window. Few minutes after waiting, suddenly the TV turned on. Amindeep gasped and said ¨It´s starting!¨ We watched the news and it was warning people that there is going to be an earthquake. We watched the news and soon we looked out the big window and saw that there was an explosion on the water and it was coming towards the window. When it hit the window the floor started to shake, the lights started flickering. After that it was a black out, the window cracked and there was a fire. The houses next door were burnt down. Few minutes later it was finished so we went out and explored more inside of the museum.

After that we went back to the room and had lunch before we went back to school. We all got out bags and put our stuff away. We saw the bus and we walked in. I sat with Angellynah, Nadal and Easter were behind us. We all laughed and talked on the bus until we got back to school. Once we arrived we said thank you to the driver who was driving the bus. We all went back to our classes and waited for the bell to ring to go home. Soon the bell rang and we all went home exhausted from all the walking inside of the museum.

My favourite gallery was the Volcanoes and the Weird and Wonderful. Why? The volcanoes were interesting and the insect room which is Weird and Wonderful was also interesting as well because we got to interact with stuff that was inside of that gallery. But I enjoyed going to the museum trip with my classmates, I had so much fun.
